A word

It always starts with just a word

A trigger, a reminder, of something you’ve heard

To flood your mind with thoughts and feels

To make you question what is real

Is life like this or do I make it so?

Is this the way it’s supposed to go?

Where are we from, where does it end?

Am I truly able to comprehend?

The people, the forces, the infinite realm

Eternal struggle ‘tween heaven and hell

To do the right thing or to just live your life

To wander alone or have kids and wife

To use what you need – or give something back

To differentiate or plain keeping your track

The journey is long yet time flies so fast

Never sure how long it will last

Enjoying the moment seems to be right

To give in to all, without a fight

Explain the inexplicable, it won’t do you no good

Even though you feel like you should

Embrace the unknown and cherish your doubts

Only you know what your world is about

No rights or wrongs, no meaning nor fate

It’s up to you what you love or hate

Give it a rest, settle it down

Look around without grief or frown

Remember the words that made you smile

Repeat it to others once in a while

Share the uncertainty, give what you have

Crying feels better when you know how to laugh
